SUBJECT: Structure Change and CQ/Training Update

Hi Everyone,

There have been so many changes in the company these past few weeks, with that said, those changes are attributed through the constant communication we have had with management. Although we are witnessing extremely light passenger loads, we have asked the company to remove seats from inventory so we can ensure social distancing if and when loads pick up. Here are some structure changes your union implemented to facilitate the operation accordingly.  

Structure Change Dio Briceno has been appointed the Co-Chair of our Safety Health and Security Committee. She is invaluable to our local and will still oversee the Benefits subcommittee. ASAP/Fatigue Committee: Due to the increase in the number of reports to the committee and the fact that they are completely different disciplines, we have decided to break up the committee. SHS will be running ASAP directly and Fatigue is now a subcommittee of SHS and will be managed by Rachel Armstrong as the Administrator. This change will enhance our communication with the company so that all safety related concerns and questions are streamlined under the same umbrella. CQ/Training Update We know that those of you scheduled to attend CQ in April and May are nervous and apprehensive about your upcoming training given the COVID-19 pandemic. We spoke with Inflight Training and they have requested waivers for individual pieces of equipment to be verbally demonstrated but have not received that approval yet. They have also requested other waivers and will be communicating those to us once the FAA gets back to them in the next 24-48 hours. We do understand that grocery stores are closing earlier in Florida and many states than normal (on or before 8pm) and for those traveling to CQ this could create a hardship in securing food. The union has addressed with the company these concerns, they have canceled Pizza during CQ for the moment. The Hotel Committee has requested that hotel rooms be better equipped with microwaves and refrigerators, the company has agreed and will book accordingly.

Lastly, the rest of the April month of CQ/Training is also being evaluated so please stay tuned and we and will update again as we know more. Stay Healthy!!
